About the artist

Jackie is a self-taught tapestry artist whose practice finds expression through handwoven fibre art. She creates woven tapestries that emerge gradually on the loom through a balance of intention, intuition, and exploration. Inspired by the warmth of handmade objects and the creative possibilities of natural fibres, her work evokes curiosity, contemplation and connection.

Each tapestry is built from the ground up, with structure and imagery developing together, row by row. Materials are chosen for their unique qualities and combined in ways that celebrate texture, depth, and material presence. The subtle variations of the handmade process become an integral part of the work itself, resulting in artworks that carry a sense of warmth and authenticity.

Through her practice, Jackie challenges traditional perceptions of weaving as craft, revealing its potential as a vibrant artistic medium. Her tapestries celebrate the interplay of colour, texture, and form, leaving room for personal interpretation and reflection.
